Data Protection

1. Our role

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, BhuCheQ acts as the Data Fiduciary for the personal data of our users, and processes data through service providers acting as our Data Processors (listed in our Privacy Policy, Section 4).

2. Security measures

• Database-enforced access control: row-level security so users can only see or edit their own records, with separate admin/staff policies for broader access where needed.
• Payment integrity: order "paid" status can only be set by a trusted server-side function that independently re-verifies with Razorpay.
• Secrets stay server-side: API keys never reach the browser.
• Hardened contact forms: server-side validation, rate limiting, bot-trap fields.
• File uploads require an authenticated session; access rules restrict users to their own documents.
• Cookie-gated analytics on the website.

We continuously review and extend access-control coverage across all backend systems as part of ongoing hardening.

3. Data retention and deletion

Uploaded documents and verification reports are retained for 1 year following order completion. Deletion requests are completed within 48 hours.

4. Your rights as a Data Principal

You have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate another individual to act on your behalf under the DPDP Act in case of death or incapacity, and raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer, escalating to the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved. 5. Cross-border data storage

Your data is stored on infrastructure located in Tokyo, Japan — see Privacy Policy, Section 5 for the full disclosure.

6. Data breach notification
